Manila Express Inc
The evolution of my life and career has been amazingly surprising. It commenced with acquiring the majority of my education in India until I migrated to America in search of a better lifestyle. Every aspect of life was new to me and it wasn’t an easy journey to accomplish as having my first job delivering pizzas. I committed my service with that company and initiated another job at night, in the belief of extra financial help. After several years of working at restaurants, I began a trucking company with a partnership with a confidant around 2007. I started driving and he was providing dispatching services and fulfilled other responsibilities. I learned many different aspects during the time I was at the yard by observing mechanics fixing trucks. Due to the lack of guidance and expertise, my journey was paved with many issues and errors.
My first truck, a Volvo, caused me a lot of trouble due to needing constant repair. Correspondingly, I sold it and bought a Freightliner which positively altered my life. I spent approximately 7 years driving and during that process I had bought 2 additional trucks and had 2 drivers working along with me. My life and progression were proceeding at the same rate. Subsequently, me and my nephew planned to open our own company and we named it Manila Express Inc. He was born and raised in Manila and I used to reside in Philippines in the 90’s. Bob Gill started working at age of 13 helping his parents in there family business in Philippines. After completing his studies in Philippines he moved to Marysville, WA and worked as a Dispatcher under his cousins company for couple of years before making an move to California and reside with me. We both had the dedication and the right mindset to expand the company with purchases of more trucks and reaching greater heights one step at a time. We had placements of drivers for every truck and the drivers would come to the yard and drop off their trailers. On my part, I would deliver the load and pick up the new one in the regredience of the drivers taking a day off and being all ready for take-off with the loads.
At that point in life, my son was in the midst of school and had fanaticism for trucks which was displayed through him taking photographs with the trucks I sometimes brought home. On the weekends he accompanied me to deliver the local loads. He soon started taking accounting and computer courses in school. Thorough observations, I noticed him working on his own accord and offered him a position for one-month continuously to test his passion. Soon he took upon the billing of the company, commenced managing upper-end divisions and initiating communications. His passion was reflected through his actions of working overtime till late at night and considering all work like his own. After and with a lot of dedication our stable company was currently at a stage with over 30 trucks and with more progression on the way. The best moment for me was having my son and nephew working together and taking control of many co tools and witnessing them pushing and motivating everyone in the company to give the best of their ability while maintaining unity. In true means, hard work and dedication resulted in success.
